Chavez has been involved in HOA leadership from the beginning. His household has profited financially for a number of years through 'common area maintenance', the exact amount seems to be a secret, but is very likely at least one hundred thousand dollars or more. David Chavez, Jr. also does not pay annual dues. Francis Jankel, the co-owner of Chavez' property, does not pay his share of Association dues, either.

We have concerns regarding the recent appointment of Veronica Saenz to the Design Review Committee Chair position. Saenz' newness to the Association and potential lack of familiarity with the rules raise questions about the suitability of this appointment. Furthermore, the selection process appears to have been conducted without appropriate transparency and adherence to established procedures, potentially invalidating its outcome. Committee appointments made in executive session have no authority, and by failing or refusing to properly notify members in a timely manner of such appointments, the Board clearly communicates the dishonesty and underhandedness that are pervasive factors among their faction.

DANA Properties announced in August 2023 that Vincent Arroyo was on the 'Architectural Committee' [sic]. Our HOA does not have one of those, we have a Design Review Committee. It does not appear that Mr. Arroyo attends meeting regularly, if ever.

Ventura Pena is on the El Mirador Design Review Committee, at least according to DANA Properties. State law requires committees to have a minimum of two Directors, and this is the second year that the Association has complied with the requirement for this committee. The most interesting aspect of this appointment is Pena's oft-stated dislike of John Reich's greenhouse (364 Avenida Mirador) and David Chavez / Francis Jankel's wrought iron (333 Avenida Mirador) in the front yard of their lot.

Susanne Kligman moved into the El Mirador subdivision in 2020 after the abrupt exit of Timothy Hinker, former Chair of the Design Review Committee. Despite never attending any meetings of the Association for years, Kligman was elected Director and appointed to the nonexistent Common Area Oversight Committee. State law requires committees to have a minimum of two Directors, which would be a requirement for this fake committee.
